FAQ

The questions people ask most before trusting an app with their finances. For the full detail, see the Privacy Policy and Security pages.

Do you sell my data?

No. There's no ad network, no data broker relationship, and no monetisation of your information at all.

Do you have access to my bank login?

No. finvue has no live connection to any bank or brokerage. Transactions get in one of two ways: you forward a notification email your bank already sent you to your personal finvue address, or an Apple Wallet automation on your own phone reads a payment notification and sends the parsed amount. Neither path involves a login screen or credential of any kind.

Can finvue move my money or place trades?

No. finvue is a tracker, not a bank or brokerage. It just records what you tell it happened. It never initiates a transfer, payment, or trade anywhere.

Who can see my expenses, holdings, or net worth?

Only you, unless you deliberately use a social feature: adding a friend, linking a debt, tagging someone in a split expense. Nothing else is visible to anyone by default.

What happens if I tag a friend in a split expense?

They see that expense in full: the merchant, amount, category, itemised breakdown, and the receipt photo itself, the moment they're tagged, not once the debt is settled. Only tag someone you're comfortable sharing a receipt with.

Is my scanned receipt private?

Yes. finvue keeps receipts in a private file bucket and only ever serves them through a signed URL that expires after an hour. Your avatar photo is the one exception, if you upload one. It's public, since it's meant to be seen by people you connect with.

What AI is used, and what does it see?

Receipt scanning, transaction parsing, spending insights, and the AI coach all run on Google Gemini. Scanning a receipt sends that photo. Asking the coach a question sends a snapshot of the figures it needs to answer: balances, holdings, debts, goals. That's what grounds the answer in your actual numbers instead of generic advice.

Can I export my data?

Yes, any time, with no need to ask anyone. Settings → Data lets you download your full financial history as CSV files, for any date range: stocks, T-Bills, dividends, expenses, debts, savings goals, CPF records and more.

Can I delete my account?

Yes, immediately and permanently, from Settings → Privacy & Security → Delete Account. It removes your account and everything tied to it, holdings, transactions, receipts, your avatar, with no recovery window. If you'd linked a debt to a friend, their own copy stays. It's just unlinked from your now-deleted account.

Is finvue a registered company?

No. It's an independent, single-developer project, not a company or a licensed financial institution. Nothing in the app should be read as financial advice from a licensed advisor.
